Guidelines and Tips for Selecting Photographs

~~~
The artist can work from just about any photo, and has done impressive
work using damaged and small photographs.  However, below are good
guidelines to follow to help create the best possible artwork.
~~~

Photographs should be in sharp focus (MOST IMPORTANT).

Head size should be at least 1
1/2",
measured from top of head to bottom of chin.

Subject should be properly lighted.
Watch for glare off eyeglasses, and be sure that the photo does not have
distracting shadows cast on the face unless you want it to be part of the
drawing.

If choosing or taking two or more photos to be combined for one drawing,
be sure that the lighting on all subjects is coming from the same direction.

Please make sure that you have the rights to the photographs.
If they were taken by a professional, you should get permission from the
photographer to use the photos for a drawing.
